MUM AND DAUGHTER PRINCESS CHRISTMAS TEA PARTY IN HOUSTON
The Christmas tea party at the St Regis Houston gathering no less than 7 princesses and their mums was one of the highlights of the year. It was a wonderful opportunity to allow the sweetest of families, met both online through our e-shop and in Paris in our children’s boutique, to gather.
From dream to reality
Over the years we have built meaningful relationships all over the globe thanks to our brand. What began with merely smocked dresses turned into beyond anything we could have dreamed of. Much more than mere clients, we have created true friendships. Dressing little girls season after season, year after year, for both special occasions and daily wear, we have been part of many cherished childhood memories. Along the way we have learnt to know each family and chat almost daily.
Noticing several lived in Houston, we wished to spread the joy and casually mentioned the idea of a tea party! We created a group chat, a date and place were agreed on and magic ensued! Thank you for having stepped out of your comfort zone and enthusiastically responded to the suggestion. Thank you for having organised it all so smoothly!
Excitement prior to the event
To make the gathering all the more fun, we create a personalized invitation for each little girl and hide it in the Christmas dress parcel.
Of course the dress code had to be a Charlotte sy Dimby dress since this was the initial link between all the families.
We also provided sweet French themed colorings created by the talented Madeleine Hall founder of Burlington Bear. This kept the children entertained and added a Parisian feel to the celebration. A love of France is another joint passion which unites all the mums who gathered.
The Christmas tea party
Beloved by all and considered a timeless Christmas tradition, high tea was perfect for a princess meet up. The event was held at the majestic St Regis Houston which provided a grand setting. Known for its signature bespoke services, exquisite decor and high quality food, it was most fitting for the occasion.
Tea in precious cups and saucers, freshly baked scones with French Bonne Maman Jam and whisked cream, savor finger pastries and sandwiches were thoroughly enjoyed by all.
Eiffel Towers and a Paris themed suitcases from Etsy made the experience all the more exceptional. A Houston French tea party : utterly unique.
Hosted right after Christmas, it was a lovely way to pursue the merriment of the season and end the year with joy!
The dresses
Each little girl wore a different dress! Of course, fancy twirls were mandatory! The princesses danced and spinned to their hearts’ delight!
Elizabeth wore her red royal Queen Elisabeth dress. This regal gown inspired both by the Tudor queen known for her astounding wardrobe as well as a collector Barbie Christmas outfit dating back to 1997. This gown requiring several days of precise and meticulous work is a piece of art. Adorned with lace, golden thread, precious stars and an oversized bow in the back, it is a statement piece.
Eloise wore an elegant night blue smock dress made of a soft velvet like fabric. Reflecting the light, it created a subtle shine giving additional splendour to the silhouette. The bodice is adorned with sweet tiara shaped smocking in shades of grey and silver. The bow features silver stars creating the ultimate chic finishing touch. The frilled organza pleated collar also added refinement to the look.
Kennedy wore a timeless tartan plaid smocked dress. Red and green tartan creates a lovely classic Christmas look. With its white Peter Pan collar, puffed sleeves and discreet side belt, it is a true classic. Extremely soft, the high quality cotton, made the design just as pretty as comfortable. The red pearls upon the white diamond shaped smocks covering the chest brought a chic festive note to it all.
Princess J. wore a gorgeous long three quarter length sleeves winter checked smocked dress. The sweet mini golden bow smocks added a party feel to the navy and red pattern. The butterfly bow in the back ensured a great fit at the waist. The discreet pleated collar blended in beautifully with the design. Her sweet American doll dressed in matching dress joined the fun too.
Emma wore a romantic soft peach pink smocked dress with intricate lace detailing. Named after Marie Antoinette’s couturier, Madame Bertin, the design has a couture feel. Its wide frilled collar, puffed sleeves adorned with embroideries and butterfly bow exude elegance. Graceful and poetic, it suited Emma’s sweet personality to perfection.
The two sisters wore matching red satin cotton dresses! The sumptuous fabric with a slight shine instantly set the tone creating a princess style. The delicate pearls sewn into the smocked waistband and sleeves enhanced the royal feel. The white willow collar and butterfly bow created a lovely color contrast. The girls paired it with berets for a French touch.
